Amid growing calls for her to drop out of the presidential race following President Joe Biden’s debate performance, Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY) has voiced her support for President Biden.
In a statement, Rep. Advertised He said Biden’s achievements include “working tirelessly to right the ship,” noting that Biden “fought for choice,” “eliminated junk fees” and “forgiven billions of dollars in student loan debt.”
Meng said Democrats “need to focus on the job ahead and prepare to defeat Trump” in the November election.
Thanks to Donald Trump, our reproductive rights have been destroyed, middle-class families suffer rising costs, immigrant communities continue to face unprecedented attacks, environmental protections have been weakened, and millions of Americans have died from a mismanaged pandemic. And he did all of this while stoking anti-Asian hatred.
The stakes couldn’t be clearer: we continue to make progress, or we slide back into Trumpian chaos and dysfunction.
I am proud to serve on the National Advisory Council for Biden-Harris 2024. Let’s focus on the work ahead and re-elect Joe Biden for President and Kamala Harris for Vice President. pic.twitter.com/dEpbW9y4Xi

“Over the past three years, Joe Biden has worked tirelessly to rebuild his administration,” Meng added. “He’s fought to protect choice, eliminated junk fees, forgiven billions of dollars in student loan debt, and fought inflation, even as the Supreme Court and radical Republicans tried every possible way to ban reproductive freedom, including IVF.”
Meng went on to note that the “stakes” of the upcoming presidential election “couldn’t be clearer,” adding that the US could either “continue to progress or slide back into the chaos, dysfunction and attacks on our values of the Trump era.”
“It’s time for all of us to do what Democrats have been doing for years,” Meng added: “Let’s focus on the work ahead and prepare to re-elect President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris in November and defeat Trump and the MAGA extremists.”
Democratic lawmakers, including Reps. Lloyd Doggett (Texas), Raul Grijalva (Arizona) and Angie Craig (Minnesota), have called on Biden to drop out of the presidential race, but the president and his campaign insist he is still in the race.
