Parkinson’s disease expert who examined Biden also a donor

The Parkinson’s disease specialist who diagnosed Biden has visited the White House eight times over the course of several months and is one of Biden’s top donors, records show.

Dr. Kevin Canard, a top neurologist at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C., has made numerous small donations to the 81-year-old’s campaign since February 2020. According to Federal Election Commission filings:.

Details of Cannard’s donation emerged after the White House confirmed on Monday that a neurologist had examined Biden and seen him as part of his annual physical exam.

The revelation was made in a letter from Biden’s physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, just hours after press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre refused to explain Cannard’s eight recent visits to the White House.

“Dr. Canard was the neurologist who performed President Biden’s annual physical,” O’Connor said.

“President Biden does not see a neurologist outside of his annual physicals.”

O’Connor said Biden’s final medical examination in February There was no evidence that the president suffered from Parkinson’s disease or any other neurological disorder.

The doctor added that although Cannard is a specialist in Parkinson’s disease, he has been practicing as a general neurologist for the past six years and has served as a neurology consultant to the White House Medical Service since 2012.

Visitor records, first reported by The Washington Post, showed that Cand made eight early morning visits to the White House home clinic between July 2023 and March 2024.
