Meagan Good defends dating Jonathan Majors amid assault trial

Meagan Good has defended her decision to start dating Jonathan Majors amid his assault trial.

The “Think Like a Man” actress was spotted on Tuesday “Today with Hoda and Jenna” episode When co-host Hoda Kotb asked her if her friends had encouraged her to “wait to see how everything goes” in court before dating, she replied: “Yes, I do.”

“Yeah, all my friends have given me advice, but at the end of the day, one thing I know is that when you trust your spirit, trust God, ask God, and you’re moving to your own rhythm, you can always look yourself in the mirror,” she explained.

Good, 42, said:[s] She said she “will definitely take into consideration the opinions and advice of my loved ones” but “I have to live my life.”

“I can always say, ‘I get it, I’m proud of you.’ No matter what happens, my mind is at peace, my heart is in harmony,” she added.

Goode reminded people that he is “the only person accountable to God for his actions, so I want to take responsibility for my choices and live the life I want.”

The “Ahoman 2” actress reflected on the last year of their “wonderful” relationship and gushed about the “support” they have shared with each other.

“The support that we’ve given each other, the pouring into each other, the honest conversations, the love, the respect, the care and compassion, it’s just amazing,” she raved.

Good and Majors, 34, made their red carpet debut at the 7th annual AAFCA Lifetime Achievement Awards ceremony in March, three months after he was convicted on assault and harassment charges.

During the red carpet, the “Lovecraft Country” actor made no secret about their relationship, telling Extra magazine that they are “in love” and “things are going great.”

Romance rumors first sparked in May 2023 after fans spotted the two together and were later photographed boarding a plane together and engaging in other low-key activities.

They eventually acknowledged their relationship when Good chose to accompany Majors to a court hearing in New York City the following month.

The “Creed III” star was subsequently charged with strangulation, assault and harassment, but authorities ultimately dropped the strangulation charge.

Majors was convicted of two misdemeanor counts of assault and harassment in December 2023. He was sentenced to 52 weeks of a domestic violence intervention program and probation in April.
