A former White House physician slammed President Biden’s press secretary on Tuesday for refusing to provide details about a Parkinson’s disease specialist’s repeated visits to the White House.
According to White House records, Dr. Kevin Canard, a top neurologist at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, met with Biden’s doctors at the White House earlier this year, igniting a public debate about Biden’s mental capacity. Since then, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has been bombarded with questions, repeatedly citing “security reasons” and “privacy” as reasons for having to conceal some information, even as she denied that the president has Parkinson’s disease.
“Outnumbered” host Kayleigh McEnany asked guest Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas) whether there were any legitimate “security reasons” for not discussing public records.
“Absolutely not, Caylee,” said Jackson, who was the White House physician for Presidents Obama and Trump. “That’s a ridiculous excuse and the whole world sees through it…We know that Dr. Canard came to the Executive Office Clinic at the direction of the president’s physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor. That’s what we know. What we don’t know is who he met there.”

He then pointed out a key difference between the two clinics, both of which are located away from the White House. Jackson said Dr. Canard specifically visited the clinic in the Executive Mansion, which is “located on the first floor of the White House, directly below the President’s bedroom, and is reserved for the care of the First Family. So if he was seen there, and Dr. O’Connor called him in to be seen, then our question is, who was he seeing there? Was he seeing the President?”
Jackson again denied Jean-Pierre’s claims about “safety” and “patient privacy” and argued the White House could be more transparent.
“If you saw anybody other than the president, please tell us,” he said. “We’ll have Dr. O’Connor come down to the podium and say so. But the question is, did he see the president? Because he’s a neurologist who specializes in Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders.”

“The sad truth is, the whole world knows there’s something wrong with this president. He’s broken, right?” he added. “And it may not be Parkinson’s. He said it’s not Parkinson’s, but it’s very similar to Parkinson’s, a different kind of movement disorder, a different serious cognitive disorder. We need to know what’s going on. We need to know what he’s being treated for.”
“We need to know that it happened. And we need to know why it happened. This is no longer a privacy issue. He is our commander in chief. This is a national security issue. And if this man is not and is not capable of leading our country, the world and the country need to know.”

In a letter released Monday night, O’Connor said Cannard was chosen for Biden’s annual physical not “because he specializes in movement disorders, but because he is a highly trained and well-respected neurologist at Walter Reed and throughout the military health system, with an exceptionally broad range of expertise and the flexibility to work with a wide variety of patients and issues.”
The president had not seen a neurologist outside of his annual physicals, the letter said.
