WASHINGTON, DC — Many Democrats remain silent about whether President Biden will be able to serve out the remainder of his term amid growing concerns about his mental health.
Many members of Congress declined to answer a question from Fox News Digital about whether Biden should remain in office, while others expressed confidence in Biden’s current and future abilities.
Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona, along with Reps. Mark Takano of California, Steny Hoyer of Maryland, Adam Schiff of California, Maxwell Frost of Florida, Lou Corea of California, Rob Menendez of Jersey, Emanuel Cleaver of Missouri, Jim Himes of Connecticut and Shuri Thanedar of Michigan, did not respond to a question from Fox News Digital about whether Biden is eligible to serve the remainder of his first term.
But Rep. Mike Quigley of Illinois, one of the first Democrats to publicly call on Biden to withdraw his presidential bid, said he wasn’t concerned about whether the president would be able to complete his remaining five months in office.

The announcement comes as Democrats continue to question, mainly privately, whether he is the best candidate to beat former President Trump in November, following Biden’s disastrous defeat in a debate with the presumptive Republican nominee late last month.
“I’m wearing aviator sunglasses today, right? I’m with my dad,” Rep. Adriano Espaillat, D-New York, told Fox News Digital outside the Democratic National Committee before House Democrats met for the first time since calls to replace the president dominated debate on Capitol Hill.
“Absolutely,” Rep. Lou Correa (D-Calif.) said when asked if Biden was fit to be president. “He’s one of the most qualified people we’ve ever had as a president.”

Rep. Jerry Nadler, Democrat of New York, said he had no concerns about Biden’s health, while Rep. Hank Johnson, Democrat of Georgia, said Biden was “absolutely” eligible to serve the remainder of the term.
“Absolutely,” replied Rep. Greg Landsman, a Democrat from Ohio.

Sinema walked away when asked the same question.
Sen. Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) told Fox News Digital that Biden is “fully” fit to be president at this point.
“I think the president has already decided what he’s going to do, because he’s the president,” said Sen. LaFonza Butler, D-Calif.

“A lot of people are asking questions that need to be asked, but at the end of the day, we have to defeat Donald Trump,” said Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.).

“President Biden is not our nominee and there is not a single Democratic senator who is saying he’s going to win,” said Sen. Chris Coons, R-Delaware. “There may be concerns, but he’s addressing them.”
Biden, meanwhile, has repeatedly said he plans to continue campaigning and that he is the man best positioned to beat Trump.
