Perhaps if Ollie Gordon II hadn’t been the FBS leader last year, he might have been disciplined by his head coach following his DUI arrest late last month.
But Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy said Gordon will not be suspended because it is “in the best interest of Oklahoma State football.”
Gundy acknowledged that the decision not to punish Gordon was based entirely on business reasons.

Gundy also said Gordon would face a “harsh attack” from the media and the public, but that in any event it would be “sufficient” punishment.
“Your punishment is to face the facts. That’s why I called him here today. I said, ‘You’re not going to hide. You’ve got to take responsibility. You’ve got to stand up and talk to people and answer questions and hopefully, more than football, you’ll learn from the situation you’re in.’ If you don’t, you’re in real trouble.”
