Alec Baldwin’s reality show preparing for possibility he goes to jail

Producers of Alec and Hilaria Baldwin’s new reality show are preparing for possible prison time after the “30 Rock” star goes on trial for shooting and killing “Lust” cinematographer Halina Hutchins.

And no matter what happens, the cameras will keep rolling.

Two sources familiar with the show told The Post that producers for TLC’s “The Baldwins” are already incorporating the trial into storyline and production.

“The Baldwins signed the agreement while Alec was already dealing with his legal issues,” a TLC source said.

“We all knew then and we all know now that the trial could potentially be part of the storyline. The show is scheduled to premiere in 2025.”

Hilaria and the couple’s youngest daughter attended the start of Alec’s manslaughter trial in Santa Fe, New Mexico on Tuesday, along with 66-year-old Alec.

Opening statements are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. ET on Wednesday.

His trial is expected to last 10 days, with the hearings to be broadcast live on Court TV.

Alec Baldwin faces up to 18 months in prison if convicted.

Last month, Alec and Hilaria Baldwin announced that the upcoming show will focus on their home life with their seven young children: Carmen, 10, Rafael, 8, Leonardo, 7, Romeo, 6, Eduardo, 3, Maria, 3, and Iliaria, 1.

If Baldwin is convicted, the tone of the show would change, another production source said.

“Alec and Hilaria were prepared to put their lives on the line for the show, no matter how that turned out,” the source said.

“If he is convicted and spends time in prison, that will be part of the show. If not, his acquittal and the aftermath will be part of the show.”

The source declined to say whether TLC cameras will be rolling privately during Alec Baldwin’s trial.

Representatives for the Baldwins and TLC did not respond to The Washington Post’s requests for comment.

The “Saturday Night Live” and New York Public Radio flagship program is accused of firing the gun that killed Hutchinson on set in October 2021.

According to the incident report, Baldwin allegedly picked up the gun, not knowing it was loaded with live ammunition.

Police said the man pointed a gun at Hutchins and fired one shot, hitting her.

Prosecutors charged him with reckless conduct that caused the death of his 42-year-old mother.

The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office said in an affidavit after the shooting that neither Baldwin nor First Deputy David Holes knew the gun was loaded.

Halls later pleaded guilty to negligent use of a deadly weapon.

The gunsmith at the shooting, Hannan Gutierrez Reed, was convicted of manslaughter in March and sentenced to 18 months in prison.

She is appealing the conviction.

Baldwin has maintained his innocence and repeatedly denied responsibility, saying he did not pull the trigger.

For now, producers of his upcoming reality show are closely watching the trial to decide how to proceed.

“Almost every scenario has contingencies,” said a production source.

“Obviously, no one wants him to end up in prison, but if that happens, we’ll accept it and we’ll deal with it.”
