Cam Newton said Christian McCaffrey “failed” him by not inviting him to his and Olivia Culpo’s wedding in Rhode Island on June 29.
Newton, who was the 49ers running back’s teammate for three seasons with the Panthers, joked in a recent interview that he was “bitter” about not being invited to the oceanside wedding in Watch Hill. “4th & 1” podcast.
McCaffrey Reacting to the clip on social media, And he recalled a conversation he had at the wedding with former NFL tight end Greg Olsen, who was Newton’s teammate for nine seasons.
In the comments, McCaffrey said Newton hadn’t responded in four years but wanted to receive his blessing at their wedding, which took place at the Ocean House Resort.

Newton later responded to McCaffrey, writing, “What’s your number?! (Share it here) I love you.”
Apparently there had been some kind of misunderstanding and the whole thing was just a joke.
Newton also joked that he wasn’t invited because of a “feud” with 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, who attended the wedding with his wife, Jenna.
“Hey C.Mac, I wasn’t invited? Was it because of your feud with Brock Purdy? Was Brock there?” Newton said on his podcast, 4th & 1.

“Who cares! Lucky I wasn’t there, C.Mac. I would have run into that motherfucker,” Newton joked. “I probably would have run into him. Everyone seemed to be having so much fun.
