Biden to call Project 2025 ‘biggest attack’ on US system of government

In a speech in Michigan on Friday, President Biden is expected to call the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 the “biggest attack” on the U.S. political system.

“Followers, Project 2025 is the largest attack on our system of government and individual liberties ever proposed in the history of this nation,” Biden is expected to say, according to a prepared speech.

Biden’s comments in Michigan came as he defended his candidacy and decision to continue campaigning amid growing calls from Democratic lawmakers for him to drop out of the 2024 presidential race.

Biden’s reelection campaign attacked Trump, calling Project 2025 “Trump’s Project 2025.”

“I’ve never seen anything like this before. This is not a joke. It’s time to stop treating politics like entertainment or a reality show. Four more years of Donald Trump is very serious. Project 2025 is very serious,” Biden would say.

While Trump has tried to distance himself from the plan, Biden has sought to tie him to it, claiming it is run and funded by his allies and that at least 140 people who worked in the Trump administration are involved. CNN Those found include Trump’s former chief of staff, Mark Meadows, and close aide Stephen Miller.

“His top policy officials, his campaign spokespeople, his personal entourage in the White House, Trump’s biggest donors,” Biden would say. “This was a project built for Trump.”

The president held a key press conference in Washington on Thursday, again asserting that he is well-positioned to beat President Trump.
