A Chicago man on parole has been arrested again after he was caught on video allegedly helping another man rob a Rolls Royce from a woman’s home, police said.
19-year-old Trevon Robinson Parole According to a report from CWB Chicago, on June 27, a 54-year-old woman, the owner of a silver 2017 Rolls-Royce Wraith, was arrested on a felony firearms charge after she was locked inside a dark SUV in the 9100 block of South Whin and forced from the vehicle at gunpoint.
The car, valued at more than $160,000, is gone, but Chicago police last week found the SUV used in the robbery at a license plate reader near the police station at 210 West 51st Street.
Investigators tracked the vehicle to a nearby Foot Locker store, where they observed Robinson exiting the vehicle and arrested him.
“Meanwhile, investigators determined that the SUV he was driving was itself the one that was carjacked by a woman on June 8th in the 1900 block of East 95th Street,” CWB Chicago reported, citing the police report.
Prosecutors said they searched Robinson’s phone and found a video of him chasing the Rolls Royce on the day of the carjacking, as well as a note with the victim’s home address.
Robinson was on parole after pleading guilty to unlawful use of a deadly weapon on April 4, but state officials are now “moving to revoke his parole in light of the new charges,” according to court records seen by local media.
In the latest case, Judge Deidre Dyer decided to keep the suspect in custody due to safety concerns.
