President Biden’s campaign said it was “pausing all outgoing communications” and was working to halt television advertising as quickly as possible following the mass shooting at former President Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday.
Gunshots rang out at Trump’s rally in Butler, a town in the west Keystone State north of Pittsburgh, and Trump was hurriedly removed from the stage.
“A suspected gunman fired multiple shots at the stage from an elevated position outside the rally venue. U.S. Secret Service agents neutralized the gunman, who is now deceased,” a Secret Service statement said.

“One spectator was killed and two were seriously injured,” the Secret Service added in a statement.
The shooting occurred minutes after Trump began speaking at the rally, with the visibly bloodied former president being hurried off the stage by Secret Service agents.

“I was shot above my right ear,” Trump said in a social media post.
Trump and Biden are locked in a heated rematch in 2024. The Biden campaign last week launched a month-long, $50 million advertising offensive, airing commercials in key battleground states.
