Former President Donald Trump has made his first comments since the apparent assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

As previously reported by The Blaze News, shots rang out during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, and Trump was seen with his face covered in blood.

I want to thank the U.S. Secret Service and all of the law enforcement agencies for their swift response to the shooting that occurred in Butler, Pennsylvania. Most of all, I want to express my condolences to the family of the person who died at the rally and the family of the other person who was seriously injured. It is hard to believe that something like this could happen in our country. At this time, we know nothing about the person who shot him. He is deceased. I was shot above my right ear. I knew right away that something was wrong because I heard a whoosh and a gunshot and felt the bullet break through my skin. I was bleeding profusely and realized what was going on. God bless America.

Stephen Chan, spokesman for President Trump Shown Trump said he thanked “the law enforcement and emergency responders who acted swiftly during this heinous act.”

Chang said Trump was “in good spirits and is undergoing testing at a local medical facility. More details will be released at a later date.”

Citing law enforcement sources, ABC News “The gunman was positioned on a rooftop adjacent to the venue and was about 200 to 300 yards away at the time of the shooting, firing eight shots from an AR-style rifle,” the report said.
