President Biden’s re-election campaign plans to resume activities on Monday night after suspending them following the shooting at a rally held by former President Trump, a source told The Hill.
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is also in action, with the Republican National Convention taking place in Milwaukee this week as part of the Democratic Party’s counter-strategy.
The effort is set to begin after Biden’s primetime interview with NBC’s Lester Holt, which airs Monday.
“Following the president’s interview Monday night, the DNC and campaign will continue to work this week to contrast our positive vision for our future with the backward-looking policies of President Trump and the Republican Party,” the official said.
The Biden campaign suspended its communications efforts on Saturday and was working to pull its television ads.
Biden and Trump spoke late Saturday night, with Trump saying in remarks Sunday that the conversation was good. Trump is scheduled to speak from the Oval Office later Sunday.
