NYC mom killed after son allegedly shoves her down embankment in Riverside Park: NYPD

A Manhattan woman died Sunday afternoon after her son allegedly pushed her off an embankment in Riverside Park, according to police and law enforcement sources.

According to police and officials, Vianell Garcia, 44, was involved in an argument with her 22-year-old son, Miguel Duval, near Riverside Drive and West 165th Street around 4:15 p.m., when the younger man allegedly pushed her.

Authorities said Garcia, of Harlem, sustained serious injuries when he fell down a grassy embankment.

She was rushed to Harlem Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to the NYPD.

Police said Duvall, whose address matched a men’s shelter in Washington Heights, was arrested at the scene and later charged with second-degree murder.
