According to Virginia State Police, one person was killed and six were injured when a pickup truck collided with a horse-drawn carriage they were riding in.
Police said the accident happened just before 7 p.m. Sunday in the 2700 block of Cumberland Road in the Farmville area of Cumberland County, about 50 miles west of Richmond.

Seven people were in the ATV at the time of the crash. One person died at the scene and six others were taken to hospital with injuries ranging from serious to life-threatening, police said. The pickup truck driver was not injured.
Police said the accident is under investigation.
