UFC president Dana White responded to the weekend’s assassination attempt on former President Trump during a radio appearance on Monday, saying one thing is “not up for debate.”
Photos showed Trump, shot in the ear and covered in blood, at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday as he yelled at the crowd to “fight!”

White was on the plane when the assassination attempt occurred. He “The Pat McAfee Show” On Monday, he praised Trump as a “great American.”
“I’ve said this all my life about this guy,” White told McAfee, “he’s one of the toughest, most tenacious guys I’ve ever met. And I’ll tell you, everybody wants to act like a tough guy. … When something actually happens, you find out who the tough guys are and who the tough guys aren’t. This guy is, honestly, the greatest American bad guy of all time.”

“The guy shot him. He went down. Then he got up. And he started yelling at the crowd, ‘Fight, fight, fight,’ and I was literally shocked. I called him as soon as I landed… He’d already come home from the hospital and we talked for about 30 minutes. Pat, I’ve never known a man like that in my life. He’s literally one of the toughest, toughest guys ever.”
“Look, if you don’t like him, you can say whatever you want about him. That’s not up for debate. Literally not up for debate. This sniper tried to shoot him and missed by millimeters, and the bullet went through his ear.”
“I had a friend who grew up in Boston, and some guys tried to kill him one night outside a bar. He was never the same again. He literally moved out of South Boston. [the] I was on the South Shore and mentally I was never the same again. This guy is almost 80 years old and he tried to blow his head off and when he got up his reaction was… This guy has been a friend of mine for 25 years and is one of the greatest human beings I’ve ever met. He’s an incredible friend and now the ultimate American badass.
“The picture you just showed us will remain in history forever, even 100 years after we’re dead.”

White initially responded to the shooting in an Instagram post.
