MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ returns without mention of going off air

MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” returned to television on Tuesday morning without immediately mentioning the show’s cancellation in the wake of the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.

Left-leaning television networks canceled morning talk shows on Monday in the wake of the Trump assassination attempt, citing concerns that anti-Trump guests might make inappropriate remarks. According to a CNN report.

Hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, staunch supporters of Joe Biden, jumped on the coverage of the assassination attempt on Tuesday, making it clear they were simply happy to be back on the air.

“good morning. very “Great to be here. Welcome to ‘Morning Joe,'” Brzezinski said.

The show then introduced its morning guest and continued coverage of the attempted assassination of President Trump over the weekend.

MSNBC launched a breaking news program on Monday morning but ran the risk of featuring someone on the show who could damage MSNBC and the network’s reputation, a source familiar with the matter told CNN.

An NBCUniversal spokesperson denied CNN’s report.

At 6 a.m. Monday, when “Morning Joe” would have started, viewers instead tuned in to NBC News’ special coverage, followed by a simulcast from the company’s streaming service, NBC News Now.

“They were in shock,” an MSNBC source said of the show’s production team, according to Fox News. “It was supposed to be one feed, like it was this weekend. It was supposed to be one feed across all NBC News platforms.”
