Far-left protesters have Trump in their sights with Biden’s re-election prospects low

Milwaukee, Wisconsin Hundreds of far-left protesters gathered at Red Arrow Park to voice their opposition to former President Donald Trump entering the White House for a second term, calling him the most dangerous person to become president, days after a gunman nearly took the Republican candidate’s life.

The march to the Republican National Convention, an umbrella organization for far-left groups from across the country that came to Milwaukee, began with a press conference where leaders of various groups spoke and warned of what would happen if Trump was re-elected.

“I think Republicans are experts in political violence.”

“For decades, the Republican Party has been on a mission to strip basic human rights from so many people in this country — attacks on Black and brown people, women, immigrants, the LGBTQ community and the working class. Defeating Republican policies is a matter of life and death for working people and oppressed people,” said Kobi Guillory, a Chicago middle school teacher and member of the Freedom Road socialist organization.

Guillory said all of the Republican National Convention attendees live in the United States – which he described as the “belly of the beast” – and therefore have a responsibility to destroy the “imperialist system” from within so that people in the United States and around the world can live in peace.

While condemning the attempt to assassinate a politician, members of Voices from the Border added that “it is undeniable that Trump’s rhetoric, policies and actions have contributed to an increase in violence and the justification of white supremacist hate crimes.”

Asked about Republicans’ contention that the near-assassination of Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, was partly to blame for the violent rhetoric and hatred spewed at him, Republican National Convention co-chair Omar Flores would simply say, “I think Republicans are experts in political violence.”

Flores also Admitted Given Trump’s actions since being shot, he will likely win the election in November.

“Let’s be realistic, this is a win for them, right? Trump’s behavior since then has reinforced the view that he is the front-runner. Of course we don’t feel that way, but whether Biden wins or Trump wins, we’ll be here no matter what,” he explained.

Protesters marched near Fiserv Forum and briefly blocked checkpoints, but there were no major attempts to penetrate the secured area and no major acts of violence.

All the speakers noted that while they oppose President Trump, Democrats are in power and that’s why it’s important for them to turn out in large numbers at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago next month.
