Oklahoma’s war of independence from BlackRock

Oklahoma patriots find themselves engaged in an epic battle for independence against a modern empire and its mercenaries, a battle that bears striking similarities to the American Revolutionary War.

Today, that empire is BlackRock, a corporate behemoth with tentacles that stretch across the globe and 89 offices. 38 countries USA, Japan, India, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Germany, South Africa etc.

Oklahoma must choose which path to take: succumb to lobbying and corruption, or fight back and escape its control?

BlackRock is not a normal company. It doesn’t produce anything useful. Instead, it’s gotten rich by managing other people’s money — and a lot of it. BlackRock is currently $10.5 trillion There is enormous power in controlling the value of other people’s assets, and BlackRock uses it to promote environmental, social and governance standards – a left-wing framework for imposing its policies on the American people through economic coercion.

Oklahomans don’t want any of this. They have no interest in having their investment in our state controlled by international corporations and used to promote left-wing policies that are antithetical to our values and interests.

As the study American Accountability Foundation RevealedSince 2022, BlackRock has tapped Oklahomans’ pension funds 54 times to back shareholder proposals that support policies such as racial equity audits, gender pay gap reporting, radical climate change policies and efforts to divest from funding conservative candidates and pro-business trade groups.

So, under the leadership of Governor Kevin Stitt and State Treasurer Todd Russ, the Sooners fought back. In 2022, the state legislature passed the Energy Non-Discrimination Act, which the Governor signed into law, banning ESG-promoting companies from managing the state’s investments. On May 3, 2023, State Treasurer Russ announced a blacklist of companies that could not do business with Oklahoma pension funds, most notably BlackRock.

But the empire would not sit idly by and watch as Oklahomans escaped its control. Blackrock and its allies immediately deployed their armies of lobbyists, sleazy politicians, and corrupt academics to overturn what Oklahomans voted for. Here are some examples:

Health Commissioner Glenn Mulready

record According to information obtained by the American Accountability Foundation, two days before the widely anticipated list was released, Pat McPheron, a lobbyist for BlackRock BlackRock met with Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner Glenn Mulready just days before Mulready voted to remove BlackRock from the Oklahoma Treasurer’s blacklist.

McFarron and Mulready have known each other for a long time. Records obtained by AAF show that not only do they exchange direct text messages like old friends, but McFarron’s lobbying firm, CMA Strategies, literally I boasted. X (Twitter) On supporting Mr Mulready to become Health Secretary.

Attorney General Gentner Drummond

Email The report shows Oklahoma Attorney General Drummond has praised BlackRock and worked closely with the company, and has disclosed extensive communications with BlackRock executives Mark McComb and the aforementioned Pat McPheron.

Most significantly, on May 12, 2023, Drummond told BlackRock representatives that he “want to continue the productive partnership between the company and the state” at a time when it was widely expected that the attorney general would be at the center of a lawsuit attacking the blacklist.

Dr. Travis Roach

record It turns out that the Oklahoma Rural Association, a shady lobbying group, paid about $6,800 to Travis Roach, associate professor and chair of the economics department at the University of Central Oklahoma, to fabricate a “study” showing that laws banning BlackRock and other ESG companies would be harmful.

but, Private EmailRoach admitted that he “knows almost nothing” about ESG, but his “research” has been justified by his expertise and cited in dozens of articles decrying anti-ESG legislation.

What’s odd is that the Oklahoma Rural Association report It has had almost zero revenue since 2020. So how does the organization get the funds to hire cherry scholars?

Apparently the Oklahoma Rural Association is a front funded by someone who opposes blacklist laws. Who is funding it?

What we know is that the Oklahoma Rural Association support The campaign of Rep. Tom Cole, whose political team includes none other than BlackRock lobbyist Pat McPheron’s CMA Strategies.

Faced with an enemy with seemingly limitless resources and power, our Founding Fathers did not flinch. They were small and relatively weak, but they ultimately prevailed. Today, faced with another powerful foe, Oklahomans must choose which path to follow: succumb to lobbying and corruption, or fight back and escape its control? Let’s hope they make the right choice.
