The news that flag football will be an Olympic sport at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics has piqued the interest of many NFL stars eager to show off their skills on the world stage.
Add veteran San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk to that list.
“I would 100 percent like to play flag football in 2028,” Juszczyk told Fox News Digital in an interview on Tuesday. “Whoever’s in charge of the selection committee, I want them to take a look at my 2022 Pro Bowl highlight reel. That’s my resume heading into the Olympics. Hopefully, I can find a way to compete.”

The NFL Pro Bowl has introduced flag football to the festivities in recent years, with Juszczyk running around the field with a flag strapped to his waist in a friendly match against fellow stars from the league.
But simply being able to call himself an Olympian isn’t the only reason the Harvard graduate wants to play in 2028.
The main reason he wants to play on the grounds of Los Angeles is American pride.
Bengals’ Joe Burrow expresses Olympic ambitions as flag football debuts in 2028
“I always say that I don’t have any regrets, but I wish I had the opportunity to go to the Olympics and represent my country. I think that would be really cool and special and unique,” Juszczyk said. Purina for the Win Challenge.
“In football, I never got the opportunity to do that. But now, I think it would be really great to do something with flag football. If they’re interested, I’m all for it. We need a fullback at that time, 37, to go out and represent our country. I’m ready.”
Juszczyk is 33 and entering his 12th season in the NFL this season, but who knows if he’ll still be throwing blocks, catching passes and scoring touchdowns by the 2028 Olympics.
But with American football being the biggest sport in the US, Juszczyk is joined by many NFL stars who say they want to represent the US in a tournament that is sure to lead to a gold medal.

Among them was Cincinnati Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow, who recently said on the “Pardon My Take” podcast that he definitely wants to play for the U.S. in 2028.
“I’d love to play on the Olympic flag football team,” Burrow said, “like me and Jamal (Chase), Justin (Jefferson) and me and my friends playing football. … I think that would be really awesome.”
Barrow said what many were thinking: It would be “embarrassing” if the U.S. didn’t win a gold medal in flag football within four years.
Other players who have expressed interest so far include Miami Dolphins speedster Tyreek Hill and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Just as other professional leagues are planning to have their stars participate in the Olympics, and many NBA players are scheduled to represent the United States in Paris next month, there will undoubtedly be more NFL players hoping to participate in the games in four years’ time.

Juszczyk is focused on returning to this season’s Super Bowl for revenge after losing to the Chiefs in February, but this time he’s also challenging for a chance to play football for the United States.
