Patrick Mahomes has announced his retirement.
During his training camp press conference on Tuesday, the Chiefs quarterback humorously said he’s excited about the new addition to the Mahomes family but has no plans to have a fourth child.

“I always wanted to have kids young,” Mahomes said. “I grew up in locker rooms, and I think I’ve said this before, it had a big impact on my life, so I wanted to have kids young.”
The 28-year-old said during a press conference on Tuesday that being a father is “amazing,” noting that Brittany is “juggling” the roles of both spouse and mother.
“We still get to go out and enjoy life and show the kids all these great things,” he said. “We’ve spent a lot of time in stadiums for football over the last eight or seven months so whenever we’re out with our families we want to enjoy those moments so it’s really nice.”
As seen on Brittany’s social media, the family of four, soon to be five, recently returned from a European trip that included a family trip to Spain, Portugal, Italy and Switzerland.
The Chiefs star and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Rookie was also seen at Taylor Swift’s Eraser Tour in Amsterdam, country singer Morgan Wallen’s concert in London and the Wimbledon second round match between Carlos Alcaraz and Frances Tiafoe.
The couple, who are co-owners of the NWSL’s KC Current, also reportedly enjoyed a double date with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. Brittany’s Instagram.
Patrick and Brittany were high school sweethearts who began dating when he was a sophomore and she was a junior at Whitehouse High School in Texas.
The couple exchanged wedding vows in Hawaii in March 2022.
Mahomes won his third Super Bowl title when the Chiefs beat the 49ers in February.
The Chiefs will open their preseason against the Jaguars on Aug. 10 and then officially begin their title defense against the Ravens in the NFL season opener on Sept. 5.
