Former President Donald Trump’s eldest grandson, Kai Trump, spoke on the third day of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A side of my grandfather that “not many people see.”
“To me, he’s just a regular grandpa. He gives us candy and soda when our parents aren’t looking and he always wants to know how we’re doing at school,” she said.
“When I got an A’s, my dad printed it out and showed it to his friends to show how proud he was of me,” she added. “He calls me during class and asks how my golf game is going and tells me all about my golf game, but I have to remind him that I’m at school and he has to call me back later.”
Kai, 17, also reflected on the assassination attempt on his grandfather at a rally in Pennsylvania last Saturday, saying he was “shocked” and “heartbroken”.

“I was shocked to hear he’d been shot on Saturday and just wanted to know if he was OK. It breaks my heart that someone would do this to another person,” she said.
Welcomed onto the stage by his father, Donald Trump Jr., Kai said “a lot of people put my grandfather through hell” but “he’s still rising.”
“Grandpa, you are truly an inspirational person. I love you,” she said. “The media has portrayed my grandpa as someone he was not, but I know the real him. He is a very caring and loving person who wants the best for this country at heart and will fight every day to Make America Great Again.”
“He’s always asking me how I’m doing, even when I’m fighting in court. He always encourages me to push myself to be as successful as I can. Of course, he sets the bar pretty high, but maybe one day I’ll catch up to him,” she added.

Kai, born on May 12, 2007, is an avid golfer. She is active on social media and regularly posts about her golfing prowess.

During his speech, Kai recounted a time when he played golf with his grandfather and had to remind him that he, too, was a “Trump supporter.”
“When we play golf together, if I’m not on his team, he tries to understand my point of view, and he’s always amazed that I’m not influenced by him. But I have to remind him that I’m a Trump supporter, too,” she said.
Last year, from Florida I started a YouTube channelShe launched an outreach social media page with a video titled “Get to Know Kai Trump!”
“It’s going to be a fun channel overall,” Kai said in the video.
As Kai races around the golf course, his friends ask him questions and he tells viewers about some of his favorite things, including Starbucks pumpkin spice lattes, prosciutto and ricotta, pickleball and tennis.
In March, Kai won the Women’s Club Championship at the private Trump Golf Club in West Palm Beach. She has previously posted photos and videos of herself playing with pro golfer and PGA player Bryson DeChambeau.

Kai weaves his fitness videos together while reminding social media users that he’s an unquestioning supporter of his grandfather.
