Tennis legend Martina Navratilova is among those who believe former President Donald Trump went too far with the bandage on his ear following the assassination attempt in Pennsylvania over the weekend.
The severity of Trump’s injuries sustained when an assassin tried to shoot him at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday has been questioned by some, including MSNBC host Ari Melber, who called the bandage Trump wore around his ear “a spectacle” during his first public appearance since the shooting.
Navratilova responded to a photo posted by the account X of Trump with a bandage on his ear, with a caption questioning the need for it.

“My best friend is a charge nurse (Level IV FNP) at a large trauma center in a big city,” the post reads. “She says there is absolutely no need to treat an ear wound like this unless half your ear was blown off, in which case it wouldn’t look like this.”
Navratilova agreed, but claimed it was a “propaganda stunt” by Trump.
Delegates wear bandaged ears in solidarity with Trump at the Republican Convention
“Of course this is clearly a PR stunt. The day after the shooting his ear wasn’t even bandaged… not even a bandaid,” Navratilova tweeted.
Navratilova did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
Appearing on “Fox & Friends” on Wednesday, Donald Trump Jr. fired back at MSNBC after several commentators questioned the legitimacy of his father’s injuries.

“For them, getting shot in the face wasn’t enough. Wasn’t it enough?” he said. “That’s the problem. They can’t do anything about it. Trump Madness Syndrome is real. It’s so stupid that they can say that… You see the pictures from that time. There’s blood everywhere.”
The bandage worn by Trump was also worn by several delegates at the Republican National Convention (RNC) as a show of solidarity with Trump.
Arizona’s Joe Neglia was among the players wearing bandages.
“When Trump walked into the room yesterday and there was an outpouring of love in the room, I thought, ‘What can I do to honor the truth? What can I do?'” Neglia told Fox News Digital. “And then I saw the bandages and I thought, ‘I can do that too.’ So I bandaged him up just to honor him and show my sympathy and solidarity.”

At the RNC, many Republicans supported Trump and thanked God for protecting him from the assassination attempt.
