MILWAUKEE — Former President Trump’s campaign is contrasting a “united” Republican Party at the Republican National Convention with the recent turmoil surrounding President Biden’s reelection.
“If you look at what we’ve accomplished at this convention, we’ve demonstrated to the American people that not only is the Republican Party united, but that President Trump’s policies and plans for America are well-established and he has a vision that will unify the country,” a senior Trump campaign official told Fox News on Thursday.
“At the same time, the Democrats haven’t even thought about who their candidate should be,” the official claimed.

Politically, Biden has resisted growing calls to end his campaign from Democratic lawmakers who are deeply concerned that Democrats could lose not only the White House but both houses of Congress in the fall elections.
Reports in the past 24 hours have said that top Democrats, including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, have had frank discussions with Biden about ending his campaign.
And the Washington Post reported Thursday that former President Barack Obama has told allies in recent days that Biden’s path to victory has narrowed significantly and that he believes the president should seriously reconsider his decision to continue running.
Asked about the Washington Post report, a source familiar with Obama’s thinking told Fox News that Obama “continues to serve in his primary role as a confidant and advisor to President Biden, as they have done for each other for many years. Former President Obama believes Joe Biden was an outstanding president and is protective of him both personally and of the strong and historic accomplishments of the Biden Administration.”
