Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, in a speech Thursday at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, threatened countries and terrorist organizations currently holding Americans hostage.
“To the whole world, we want the hostages back. If they are not back before I take office, there will be a very heavy price to pay.”
While Trump did not specify which hostage-takers he was referring to, he used the rally to highlight the plight of five Americans who remain being held hostage by Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip.
The parents of Omer Neutra, a US citizen and Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) soldier, spoke at the party’s convention on Wednesday night, with President Trump in the audience, to the chant “Bring them home!”
In his speech accepting the Republican presidential nomination, Trump said that Hamas would not have attacked Israel if he were still in the Oval Office because Hamas’ sponsor, Iran, was “bankrupt.”
