Now this swimmer is on fire.
A popular Massachusetts community pool was forced to close due to extreme heat after someone broke a glass jar of salsa, resulting in a fee of up to $20,000 in cleanup costs, officials said Friday.
The Rosemary Recreation Complex in Needham, a lap pool with a giant waterslide, was closed Sunday after shards of glass went into the water. The Needham Observer reported.
The extensive cleanup, which will include draining the 220,000-gallon pool, chemically rebalancing it and testing it for bacteria, is expected to cost the town between $15,000 and $20,000, according to the outlet.
Local officials were a bit infuriated by the hot sauce furor.
“All because of one person’s decision to bring a jar of salsa to the pool, an entire community lost both their pool and their wallets,” said Massachusetts Senator Becca Rausch. Facebook Post.
“Please do not bring glass into the pool. This rule and others like it are not hard to follow; they are there for the enjoyment and personal health and safety of all of us.”

Parks and Recreation Director Stacey Mulroy initially said it was unclear how long it would be before people could get in the water as area temperatures rose into the mid-90s Fahrenheit that week.
“Please note, glass of any kind is absolutely prohibited at Rosemary Pool,” Mulroy said. He wrote on Facebook“Today’s incident was avoidable and unfortunate.”
