Biden Needs ‘Four More Years’ to ‘Finish the Implementation’ of Policies to Lower Prices

On MSNBC’s “José Diaz-Balart Report” broadcast Friday, Rep. Nanette Barragan (D-Calif.) said people are still concerned about prices, but President Joe Biden has a plan to bring prices down as he asks Congress for measures like rent control, and “we need four more years to get the job done, finish implementing these policies and build on that to help the American people.”

Barragan said, “I’ve been with the president over the last few days, I’ve had a number of opportunities to talk with him, and part of that was talking about continuing to be engaged in the work. And as you can see, the president has been running from event to event, shaking hands, getting warm welcomes. This is not just about reminding people of what he’s done, but also letting people know what he’s going to do. Of course, we still hear concerns about high prices. And it’s about communicating a plan to bring prices down, and we’re seeing the actions he’s taking in real time, making proposals, asking Congress to put a cap on increases in rents and things like that, and doing all he can to help the American people. He has four more years to finish the job, to finish implementing these policies, to build on them and help the American people. And I have no doubt that he’s the best choice. I have no doubt that he’ll win. And I will continue to support him and the vice president.”

She previously said Biden had “got it right” on the economy and jobs.
