She was named All-Star Game MVP.

Clark, a rookie for the Indiana Fever, set the record for most assists by a rookie in an All-Star Game. She recorded 10 assists, breaking the previous record of eight set by Shaunie Schimel in 2014. Clark was one shy of Sue Bird’s single-game assist record of 11.

One of Clark’s assists went to Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese, giving fans the matchup they’d all been hoping for between the two competitors.

Angel Reese jokes that she’ll be friends with All-Star teammate Caitlin Clark “for one day”

Reese also had a solid game and unsurprisingly recorded a double-double, becoming the first rookie to do so in an All-Star Game. Reese finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Clark and Reese were the last WNBA players to take the court, offering a brief glimpse into the league’s future for the next decade or so.

The U.S. team received a bit of a wake-up call as they prepared for the Paris Olympics.

“We’ve got to go out there and compete, no matter who we’re playing,” Diana Taurasi, who had 14 points, told her team after the final buzzer sounded.

Breanna Stewart led the team with 31 points and 10 rebounds. A’ja Wilson had 22 points and six rebounds. Brittney Griner added 10 points and seven rebounds.
