DNC Trying to ‘Rig the Nominating Process’ for Kamala Harris

Independent third-party candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has accused the Democratic National Committee (DNC) of trying to rig the election in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race.

As Breitbart News reported on Sunday, Joe Biden made a historic decision not seen since Democrat Lyndon Baines Johnson refused to seek reelection in 1968.

“Serving as your president has been the honor of my life,” Biden said in a statement. “While I intended to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and our country that I step down and focus solely on fulfilling the duties of my presidency for the remainder of my term.”

When Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the party’s flag bearer, Democrats quickly endorsed Biden and celebrated the decision, with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. saying that this essentially means party leaders want to deny voters the right to choose their candidate in a primary election.

“I commend President Biden for stepping down from office. His weaknesses have been obvious to any unbiased observer from the start. This slowly deteriorating situation, and the abandonment of Democratic Party principles, is what prompted me to enter the race to give American voters a viable and powerful alternative to Donald Trump,” he said in a post on X.

“But the DNC’s response was an attempt to hide President Biden’s corruption from the American people and subvert democracy to shove him into the party’s nomination. Many Americans fear that these same DNC elites are once again trying to rig the nomination process to put a deeply unpopular vice president in Biden’s place,” he added.

The candidate concluded by calling on Democrats to “return to our traditional commitment to democracy and embody it in an open process.”

“Instead of nominating a candidate chosen by the DNC elites, the party should use independent polling to identify the candidate best positioned to beat Donald Trump. Delegates should then choose their candidate based on this information. If they had done that from the start, I would never have had to leave the Democratic Party,” he said.

When Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced his candidacy for president, the Democratic Party did not allow any debates between the two candidates because Biden had won the primary in a landslide victory.
