Harris Can ‘Separate Herself’ from Biden, ‘Maybe’ She’s Better on Border

On Monday’s MSNBC broadcast of “The Andrea Mitchell Report,” Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) said of Democratic 2024 presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris that not only can she “talk about the great work that the Biden-Harris team has done,” but that she can also “distance herself from policies where she disagrees with the president and may have better ideas, like how we should secure the border.”

“She’s been in the president’s shadow for the last four years,” Moulton said. “She has to bring her energy, her vigor, her courage – all the things we know about a vice president – to lay out her policies, her vision for the future, and introduce herself to many voters who only know her through her reputation as vice president. Now she has two great opportunities. One, she can talk about the great things the Biden/Harris team has accomplished, like the passage of the CHIPS and Science Act, the bipartisan infrastructure bill, but she’s also her own person, her own leader, and she can distance herself from policies where she may disagree with the president and have better ideas, like how to secure the border.”
