A teacher at a private Catholic school in Delaware was arrested after he was accused of sending nude photos to a 14-year-old student on Snapchat, police said.
Alanis Pinion, 24, taught eighth grade at St. Mary Magdalene School in Wilmington, but New Castle County police said she “frequently communicated with students on Snapchat, sending sexually explicit photos to one of them.”
A press release shared by the police department on Facebook detailed how Pinion was arrested Thursday on charges of sexual solicitation of a child under the age of 18 and endangering the welfare of a child, both felonies, and a misdemeanor count of first-degree indecent conduct.

Police said they have already notified the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington of the allegations and that the diocese has “fully cooperated with the investigation.”
Pinion was subsequently incarcerated at Baylor Correctional Facility for Women after failing to post $46,000 bail.

Earlier this week, the school was contacted by New Castle County Police to inform them that a former part-time contract employee was being investigated and ultimately arrested for allegedly electronically exchanging inappropriate images with a former student.
“The contractor successfully completed the required background check procedures prior to employment. School, district and archdiocese officials assisted police with their investigation,” the statement continued.
“Please be assured that all of us at St. Magdalen Parish and the school, and our partners in the Diocese of Wilmington, will always have the safety of children and young people as our number one goal.”
Investigators also said they were “concerned there may be other victims who have not yet come forward.”
Police detectives are appealing for anyone with further information to contact them.
