As the Minnesota Vikings continue to mourn rookie cornerback Kyrie Jackson and his family, the team will honor him this season with special “KJ” stickers on each player’s helmet.

Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and head coach Kevin O’Connell announced the plans to put helmet decals on the team to media on the first day of training camp, but that’s not all.

The Vikings also plan to pay the remainder of Jackson’s signing bonus, which was paid as part of his rookie contract and was awarded to the Vikings in the fourth round of the draft this year out of the University of Oregon. According to Spotrac, Jackson’s signing bonus was $827,148.

Jackson’s number, 31, will not be worn by any Vikings player this season.

Jackson was killed in a car accident in Maryland two weeks ago, along with two of his high school teammates, Isaiah Hazell and Anthony “AJ” Litton.

Maryland State Police found Hazel and Jackson, the driver of the Dodge Charger that was totaled in the crash, dead when they arrived on the scene. Litton was taken to a hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The crash involved three vehicles, including a silver Infiniti Q50 and a Chevrolet Impala. Police said initial findings indicate the driver of the Infiniti Q50, identified as Cori Klingman, 23, “was traveling at a high rate of speed and attempted to change lanes, striking a Dodge Charger, which then struck the Chevrolet Impala.”

The Charger then left the right side of the road and “struck multiple tree stumps” before coming to a stop. Two other passengers in Clingman’s car were uninjured, while the driver of the Chevrolet Impala refused medical treatment at the scene.

Investigators did not say who the driver was, but they believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

“I am absolutely devastated by this news,” O’Connell said in a statement at the time.

“Kyrie brought an infectious energy to our facility and to our team. His confidence and engaging personality quickly drew his teammates to him. In our short time together, it was clear that Kyrie would develop into a great professional football player, but what was even more impressive was his desire to be the best person he could be to his family and those around him. We are lost for words and our hearts go out to Kyrie’s family, friends, teammates and coaches.”
