Fever’s Caitlin Clark is ‘best passer’ in the WNBA: Rebecca Lobo

Basketball analyst Rebecca Lobo believes Caitlin Clark is “the best passer in the league.”

While speaking on SiriusXM NBA RadioLobo, a former NCAA and WNBA star, gave the title to this year’s No. 1 overall pick.

“She’s amazing,” Lobo said.

The 22-year-old Clark is averaging 17.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 8.2 assists per game, but he is committing a massive 5.6 turnovers per game.

“There’s always going to be a few more turnovers because she takes chances, especially with passes that give you the lead,” Lobo said.

“She’s trying to thread the needle. Most of the time it works, but sometimes it doesn’t.”

Clarke garnered a lot of attention at the recent WNBA All-Star Game.

She recorded a game-high 10 assists in helping the WNBA team to a 117-109 win over Team USA, one shy of the WNBA All-Star Game record held by Sue Bird.

Rookie competitor Angel Reese also praised her.

“It’s super cool. When she gets the ball, she runs to get the ball because she knows she’s going to throw it to her,” Reese said of Clark in an interview on ABC on Saturday night.

She also wowed Jonquel Jones and the fans with one of the assists on the night.

The star delivered a perfect pass to Fever teammate Aaliyah Boston near the top of the key for a layup.

“I had to watch it multiple times to figure out how the ball got into the receiver’s hands. Like 2 guys. Perfect timing,” one user wrote to X.

Add another one“She’s shocked by the pass. Keep in mind she plays point guard for the U.S. national team.”

Lobo also mentioned other mechanics of Clark’s game.

“And the thing to note is that even though she’s still not making 3-pointers at the rate that she used to, she’s adapting,” she said.

The Fever had some tough games early in the season where Clark struggled to get going.

Social media users argued that “hitting long 3-pointers is not going to help her or her team in any way,” with some criticizing her for “her terrible shot.”

Notably, in a game against the Atlanta Dream on June 13, Clark made 3-of-11 field goals and 1-of-6 three-pointers.

After his poor game, Clark was spotted working on his jumper in a nearly empty Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

But with each game and practice, she has adapted to the WNBA’s style of play.

“She’s not taking as many logo bombs and she’s driving and finishing a lot more,” Lobo said.

“That’s how she gets her points and her assists are off the charts and she’s really fun to watch.”
