Whoopi Goldberg told her co-stars on ABC’s “The View” on Wednesday that she was uncomfortable with Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) criticizing childfree Democrats, like Vice President Kamala Harris.
“The resurfacing of the J.D. Vance video isn’t going to do much to connect with a lot of voters. Take a look,” Goldberg said.
Speaking to Fox News in 2021, Vance said, “Through the Democratic Party and the corporate oligarchy, childless catwomen who have been miserable with their lives and their choices have effectively ruined this country, so they want to make the rest of the country miserable too. That’s a basic fact. If you look at Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, AOC, the future of the Democratic Party is entirely controlled by childless people. How dare we turn this country over to people who have no direct stake in it.”
“Sir, there are people who, for one reason or another, choose not to have children. There are people who want to have children but can’t,” Goldberg said.
She added: “How dare you say that? You’ve never had kids. Your wife has kids, you don’t. So you don’t know anything about this. How dare you say that. And ladies, you’ve heard what he thinks of you. Well, this isn’t good for you, JD. Now, what’s up?”
