The Trump campaign said Thursday that it would be “inappropriate” to schedule a presidential debate as long as Democrats remain confused about their future nominee.
Trump campaign communications director Steven Chang said in a statement Thursday that Democrats need to decide on a nominee before agreeing to a debate.
“Given the ongoing political turmoil surrounding Uncle Joe Biden and the Democratic Party, details of the general election debates cannot be finalized until the Democratic Party has formally decided on its nominee,” the statement said.
“Many in the Democratic Party, especially Barack Hussein Obama, feel strongly that Kamala Harris is a Marxist charlatan who cannot beat President Trump and they are still waiting for someone ‘better’. Therefore, it would be inappropriate to schedule an event with Harris as there is a good chance the Democrats could still change their mind,” the statement concluded.
