Former President Donald Trump used his Truth Social platform on Thursday night to slam FBI Director Christopher Wray following a congressional hearing into the assassination attempt on Trump.

Wray testified that he was unsure whether it was a bullet that struck Trump’s ear during an outdoor rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.

“With regards to former President Trump, I think there’s a question as to whether it was a bullet or shrapnel that struck his ear,” Wray said during Wednesday’s hearing.

President Trump, who nominated Wray to be FBI director in 2017, blasted his former appointee after the hearing.

“FBI Director Christopher Wray told Congress yesterday that he doesn’t know if I was hit with shrapnel, glass or a bullet (the FBI wouldn’t even check!), but he is certain that the villainous Joe Biden was physically and cognitively “unconcerned” – and that’s false!” Trump wrote: on his social media sites.

“That’s why he knows nothing about the terrorists and other criminals who are pouring into our country at record levels. His only concern is saving the radical left-wing lunatics who are destroying J6 Patriots, storming Mar-a-Lago, burning the American flag in Washington, DC, and spray painting our great national monuments. No retaliation whatsoever.”

“No, unfortunately it was a bullet that hit my ear. And it hit me hard. There was no glass or shrapnel. The hospital called it a ‘gunshot wound to the ear’ and that is exactly what it was. No wonder the once-fameable FBI has lost America’s trust!”

During the rally, Trump was shot in the right ear, and Secret Service agents responded, surrounding him and helping him off the stage, down the stairs and into a waiting vehicle.

The suspected gunman, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was shot dead by Secret Service agents. Two others were wounded in the shooting, and former firefighter Corey Comperatore died at the scene while trying to protect his family.

Trump was treated at a nearby hospital and released, then appeared at the Republican National Convention a few days later with his ear bandaged.

Kimberly Cheatle, who was the director of the Secret Service at the time, faced calls to resign but insisted she would not. After testifying before Congress this week, Cheatle resigned.

Wray now faces similar scrutiny, including from Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana.

“We’ve all seen the video, we’ve seen the analysis, we’ve all heard from multiple sources and different angles that the bullet went through his ear. I’m not sure that’s all that significant,” Johnson said during the hearing.

Johnson added that Wray “did not provide some of the information that we were hoping to receive.”

“There’s a lot of frustration and concern about the leadership of these agencies,” Johnson said.
