Trump warmly greets Netanyahu, wife at Mar-a-Lago

Former President Donald Trump gave Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a warm welcome at Mar-a-Lago on Friday afternoon, kissing his wife and embracing the Jewish leader.

Trump, 78, opened his arms to embrace the Netanyahu couple and said, “Please come in. It’s good to meet you.”

The Republican candidate then kissed Prime Minister Sara Netanyahu on both cheeks and pulled her in for a firm handshake.

“It was the best dinner I’ve ever had,” Trump told the Jewish leaders.

Trump and Netanyahu had a close relationship during the former president’s time in the White House. The relationship hit a snag after Netanyahu congratulated Biden on his 2020 election victory, with Trump saying at the time that he “hasn’t spoken to him since” and that he was a “son of a bitch.”

However, relations have since been mending.

In a speech to parliament on Tuesday, Netanyahu specifically praised President Trump’s support for Israel.

“I want to thank President Trump for his leadership in brokering the historic Abraham Accords. Israelis, like Americans, are relieved that President Trump has emerged safe from the vile attack against him and against American democracy. There is no place in a democracy for political violence,” the Israeli leader said.
