Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned on Tuesday following damning testimony before the House Oversight Committee.

The Secret Service has come under fire for security lapses during the July 13 rally, including abandoning a rooftop used by the suspect due to the temperature and refusing a drone offered by local authorities to provide security for the rally. The Secret Service also reportedly refused Trump’s request for extra security at his events.

Rally attendees reportedly saw the alleged shooter and pointed him out to warn police minutes before the shooting, and Secret Service agents on the scene reportedly learned of the attempted assassin about an hour before the attack.
