A 39-year-old North Carolina teacher is facing multiple charges after authorities investigated allegations of sexual misconduct involving a student.
The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the allegations on July 1 and launched an investigation, WFMY News reported. report on wednesday.
“As a result of the investigation, criminal investigators sought to charge Brittney Marie Vernon with three counts of lewd acts with a student and three counts of sexual battery with a student. The judge determined there was probable cause to issue the warrant,” the department’s press release stated. Said.

WFMY reports that the suspect is a career technical education instructor at Randleman High School.
“She enrolled in the Randolph County School System on Aug. 20, 2018, and enrolled at Randolman High School on Aug. 21, 2023,” the outlet reported, noting that she is being held on $75,000 unsecured bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 12.
The article also reported that the suspect “has been suspended with pay from Randleman High School.”
