Observations from Jets training camp practice on Saturday.
Lazard is back
Allen Lazard’s training camp resurgence continued.
His connection with Aaron Rodgers, dating back to his time with the Packers, was on display throughout the first four sessions and continued into Saturday’s first 11-on-11 period, when Lazard turned toward the sideline as Rodgers scrambled and tapped both feet inbounds while catching the ball.
He caught two of Rodgers’ four passes in the ensuing 7-on-7 session.
Dropsies
Malik Taylor, who played well in training camp on Friday and is competing for a roster spot at wide receiver, suffered a tough exit during a 7-on-7 game.
It caught my eye
Emotions erupted during the fourth session of training camp, when a sizable scrum involving offensive lineman John Simpson and pass rusher Jermaine Johnson broke out during an 11-on-11 session.

It didn’t take long for the players to separate and return to normalcy.
“That’s going to happen in camp,” right guard Alijah Vera-Tucker said. “If that’s not happening in camp, then we’re not a really passionate team. We’re just missing a little something.”
The Rogers Report
There were times when Rodgers and the offense again performed well, but there were also times when they struggled.
Rodgers completed just 1 of 4 passes in the 11-on-11 period, including one that flew over Garrett Wilson’s head in the end zone.
He went 2-for-2 in the first team’s period and also had a bright performance in the 7-on-7 period.
Injury Report
Corner back Brandyn Echols is suffering from what Robert Saleh described as a rib contusion and is scheduled to be re-evaluated on Monday.
WR Xavier Gipson (lower-body injury) and OL Jake Hanson again did not practice.
Vera-Tucker has participated in some of the team’s practices and is expected to do more as training camp progresses.
