Big Tech appears to censor Trump assassination attempt: ‘Election interference?’

Multiple users have reported that the tech giant’s search engine appears to be censoring the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania.

of New York Post On Sunday, The Washington Post reported that Google’s “autocomplete” feature failed to show search results related to the deadly attack on July 13. The news outlet reported that when they typed “assassination attempt” into the search bar, the autocomplete feature did not show any results related to Trump. Additionally, The Post found that Google did not generate any auto-generated suggestions when they typed “Trump assassination attempt.”

After this egregious behavior, people have come to Google to find quality information, and we connect people with helpful results, and we’ll continue to do so,” Google added.

Other big tech companies also appear to be censoring the recent assassination attempt on President Trump. Like Google, Bing’s search engine did not autofill “President Trump” when users typed “assassination attempt.” Instead, it generated results for “President,” “President Franklin Roosevelt 1933,” “Reagan,” “Ronald Reagan,” and “George Wallace.”

Microsoft did not respond to Blaze News’ request for comment at the time of publication.

Several posts from X users revealed that Meta AI may also be blocking information about recent attacks.

“Meta AI has not provided any details about this assessment attempt. We are witnessing one of our most significant cases being suppressed and covered up in real time. This is unbelievable,” TikTok’s Libs wrote on Sunday afternoon.

By Monday morning, the meta AI appeared to have fixed the issue, according to Blaze News: When asked, “Can you give me details about the attempted assassination of Donald Trump?”, the platform displayed a paragraph detailing the events of a July 13 rally, where Trump was shot in the ear and one attendee was killed.

At the time of publication, Meta had not responded to Blaze News’ request for comment.

In a post on X, Donald Trump Jr. slammed Google for concealing the attack from its autocomplete feature.

“Big Tech is once again trying to interfere in our election to help Kamala Harris. We all know this was deliberate election interference by Google. This is despicable,” Trump Jr. wrote.

Elon Musk, who recently endorsed President Trump, also commented on the situation.

“Wow, Google bans searches for President Donald Trump! Election interference?” Mask I have written.

“If they interfere in an election they will be in big trouble,” he wrote in another post.

Musk also shared a social media post questioning Google’s claim that it suppresses “predictions related to political violence,” which showed a number of autofill results referencing assassination attempts on former presidents Ronald Reagan, Harry Truman, Gerald Ford, Andrew Johnson and Franklin D. Roosevelt.
