Polling Shows JD Vance More Popular than Kamala Harris

Polls show that Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. J.D. Vance (Ohio) is more popular than presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris, contradicting existing media reports.

The survey found that 42% of registered voters have a favorable view of Vance, while 44% have an unfavorable view.

In contrast, 52% have an unfavorable view of Harris, while 46% view her favorably — the most favorable outcome for Harris in the 2024 election cycle.

To make matters worse for Harris, FiveThirtyEight totalling Polls show her approval rating at 13.7 percent.

Harris and Democrats ran a national campaign attacking Vance, an Ohio senator, as Trump’s running mate, claiming he was a “nutjob.” Republicans responded by pointing to the many examples of Democrats and others on the left who have been “nutjobs.”

Vance responded by saying it was an “honor” to be attacked by Democrats.

“Look, the price of admission, the price of serving the American people, is that Democrats are going to attack us with all their might,” Vance told Fox News reporters. “I think it’s an honor.”

A majority of Americans blame Harris for Biden’s policies, according to a Senate Opportunity Fund poll.

The same survey also found that Harris’ approval ratings were sluggish.

Harris’ approval ratings were also low at the start of the campaign, with 51% saying they viewed her unfavorably. Of those, 39% viewed her very unfavorably and 11% viewed her somewhat unfavorably. Only 43% viewed her favorably. Next, when asked whether Biden’s decision to drop out of the race was a “political decision” or a “patriotic decision,” 53% (again a majority) said Biden’s move was political, while only 38% said it was a “patriotic decision.”

Additionally, all but one of the top five words respondents used to describe Harris were negative. The top two were “unqualified” at 42 percent and “unprepared” at 38 percent. The third, “qualified,” was chosen by just 31 percent, while the next two, “weak” at 31 percent and “liberal” at 30 percent, were also negative.

“Finally, when we pitted Trump against Harris and asked who they thought would better unify the country, 44% said Trump, compared with 43% for Harris,” Breitbart News’ Washington bureau chief Matthew Boyle wrote. “In battleground states, Trump’s numbers rose to 47% while Harris’s fell to just 44%.”
