C Spire, Technology and Communications “We are shocked by the mockery of The Last Supper during the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics. C-Spire is withdrawing our advertising,” the Ridgeland, Mississippi-based company wrote in a post on X.

“CSpire supports the athletes who have worked so hard to qualify for the Olympic Games. However, we will not participate in the offensive and unacceptable mockery of ‘The Last Supper,’ which is why we are pulling our advertising from the Olympics,” CSpire CEO Susie Hayes said in a statement provided to FOX Business.

Paris 2024 spokesperson Anne Decquin apologized for the incident at a press conference, telling reporters: “It was clearly no intention to show disrespect towards any religious group. (The opening ceremony) was an attempt to celebrate the tolerance of the community. We are confident that this goal was achieved. We are truly sorry if anyone was offended.”

What is C Spire?

C Spire (formerly Cellular South) is Broadband Internetwireless and cloud services, TV and streaming packages, home telephony, managed IT services, and more. Customers include both homes and businesses in the areas it serves.

The company’s website lists dozens of “fiber towns” where fiber-optic broadband service is available, all in Alabama and Mississippi.
