U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg praised abortion for making men “freer” during a virtual campaign event on Monday titled “White Men for Harris.”
“I’m really glad that she made freedom her campaign theme because I think freedom is at stake in so many different ways,” Buttigieg, who is trying to raise money for his White House bid, said of Vice President Kamala Harris. “Of course, women’s freedom is evidence No. 1 after Donald Trump destroyed the right to choose. But of course, men are also more free in countries where you have a president who defends things like access to abortion care.”
“When the leader of the free world, the leader of this country, supports access to contraception and IVF, men have more freedom,” he added.

Pro-life leaders were infuriated by his comments, saying his views “demean women.”
“This mindset not only undermines women’s worth and inherent dignity, it also perpetuates a culture that avoids responsibility and fails to support women in their time of need,” says Andrea Trudden, vice president of communications and marketing at Heartbeat International, a network of pro-life pregnancy support centers. Said Fox News Digital. “This is a stark reminder that a cultural shift needs to occur that calls on men to embrace their role as responsible adults who support women and children.”
Pete Buttigieg is right. When women have abortions, men have more freedom. They are relieved of responsibility and can even cover up their crimes. Is this the “freedom” we are fighting for as women? https://t.co/ttDOS3SmlH

Given Pete Buttigieg’s comments, the Harris campaign needs to change the name from “White Men Supporting Harris” to “Irresponsible White Men Supporting Harris.”

“In light of Pete Buttigieg’s comments, the Harris campaign needs to change the name from ‘White Men Supporting Harris’ to ‘Irresponsible White Men Supporting Harris.’ Abortion up to birth at taxpayer expense makes men ‘more free?!’ Free from responsibility. Free from the consequences of exploiting women. Sorry, Secretary of Transportation, but that’s not freedom. It’s a social disaster,” said Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council.
Pete Buttigieg just said, “When women have the right to abortion, men have more freedom.” Wow.
Children should not die so that men can use women’s bodies for their pleasure with no responsibility. It’s a revolting idea.

“Pete Buttigieg just said, ‘If women can have abortions, men will have more freedom.’ Wow,” said Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood manager who is now a pro-life activist. “Babies shouldn’t have to die so that men can use women’s bodies for their pleasure with no accountability. This is a terrible idea.”
Pete Buttigieg just said the quiet part out loud.
“When women have the right to abortion, men have more freedom.”

The campaign’s call was pitched as an effort to “stop the MAGA pack from intimidating other white men into voting for their hateful, divisive ideology, because we understand that under MAGA, everyone loses.”
