As the 2024 election approaches, Americans are finding solace in funny parodies spreading across social media — and the latest one is infuriating leftists.
This is likely because the AI-generated parody of Kamala Harris’ election ad tells the truth, while the real ad doesn’t.
In the video, Harris’ AI-generated voice claims she is the “ultimate diversity hire” because she is “both a woman and a person of color.”
“So if you criticize anything I say you’re a sexist and a racist. I may not know anything about running a country, but if you’re a Deep State puppet, remember that’s a good thing,” the parody continued.
“I’ve been the ultimate puppet of the deep state and I’ve spent four years under the tutelage of a brilliant leader, Joe Biden,” she said. “Joe taught me rule number one: carefully hide your complete incompetence.”
Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report is well aware that it’s “obviously fake,” but California Governor Gavin Newsom doesn’t think voters are smart enough to distinguish parody from reality.
After Elon Musk retweeted the video, he clarified this, posting a screenshot of an article on X titled “Elon Musk Retweetes Doctored Kamala Harris Campaign Ad,” and wrote, “It should be illegal to manipulate your voice in these ‘ads’. I will be signing legislation in the coming weeks to make sure it is illegal.”
Musk used the opportunity to spread more laughs than the parody video itself.
“I just checked with Professor Sagon Deesnutz, a world-renowned authority, and he said parody is legal in the US,” Musk wrote in response to Newsom’s post.
“So, Gavin Newsom, you’re trying to pass a law against parody,” Rubin laughs.
