“Just today I heard that the Biden-Harris Department of Justice made a deal with al-Qaida terrorist Khalid Sheikh Mohammed to avoid the death penalty. It was reported today,” Vance said. “As someone who joined the Marines after 9/11, this is absurd, but it doesn’t surprise me.”
The Department of Defense (DoD) announced on Wednesday that Military Commission Convening Authority Susan Eskarie had entered into pretrial agreements with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Walid Mohammed Saleh Mubarak bin Attash and Mustafa Ahmed Adam Al Hawsawi.
The Ohio Republican went on to slam the Biden-Harris administration, saying it has been “a disaster for our country around the world.”
“Look at what’s happening now with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, who have weaponized the Department of Justice to go after their political opponents, but they’re making a sweet deal with the 9/11 terrorists,” Vance said. “We need a president who will kill terrorists, not negotiate with them.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson also condemned the prosecutors’ decision, saying the Biden-Harris administration had done the “unthinkable.”

Vance cited other examples of weaknesses in the Biden-Harris administration: Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro Re-election, widely believed to have been a fraudulent victory in Sunday’s election, securing him another six-year term.
“There are lots of examples I could talk about right now, but we recently had news coming out of Venezuela that they made a deal with the dictator of Venezuela and in return they offered to give the dictator free and fair elections,” Vance said. “And what’s astonishing is that the Kamala Harris administration knows nothing about free and fair elections.”
