The evangelist, who is touring with his Christian concert tour “Winter Jam,” said he has witnessed a “movement” happening among young people who hunger for Christ and crave something more than the world can offer. Evangelist Zane Black will be touring 39 cities this year. Winter Jamis an annual concert tour that allows fans to see multiple bands for one low price (suggested donation of $15.) This year’s tour featured Crowder, Lecrae, CAIN, Katy Nichole, Seventh Day Slumber, Newsong, and more.
“As I travel around the country, it seems like something is stirring, there’s a rebellion going on,” Black told Christian Headlines.
During the winter tour, approximately 34,500 individuals professed their faith for the first time, with several shows sold out.
At one particular sold-out show, young people who couldn’t get into the arena stayed outside and “worshipped in the parking lot until late into the night,” Black said.
“Some of the artists brought acoustic guitars.“ Black said.
For example, “CAIN would play inside, then go outside with his acoustic guitar, stand on some boxes and just sing. It was amazing.”
Polestar WinterJam attendance was reported as 13,156 in Greensboro, North Carolina; 12,912 in Knoxville, Tennessee; 11,715 in Nashville, Tennessee; and 11,117 in Indianapolis.
Black said the COVID-19 pandemic has opened young people’s eyes.
“It removed the blind spot about what was at stake and brought awareness to the need. [for God]”And I think the gospel has become even more beautiful in the eyes of many people, and the hope of heaven. His promise of life has now become even more tangible.”
The darker the culture, he said, the more people thirst for truth.
“I know there are statistics that say churches are closing down.“ Mr Black said: “But Jesus said, ‘I will establish my kingdom, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.‘ The kingdom of God is moving forward. … The body of Christ is spreading the gospel. The gospel is spreading. So, I personally am hopeful. I’m excited.”
Black said the purpose of Winter Jam is not only to spread the gospel but also to encourage believers and “ignite people as the light of Christ in their communities, schools and friend groups.”“
Young Christians are passionate about the truth, he said.
“They are burning,“ He said, “We have a lot of people who are excited to share the life of Christ with their friends.”
