Olympics having trouble selling tickets for Caitlin Clark-less USA-Germany game

Without Caitlin Clark, the U.S. women’s basketball team is struggling to draw the crowds expected at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The New York Times Report on Wednesday Tickets for the match between the United States and Germany scheduled for August 4th are on sale at a “special price” of 24 euros each, with no reserved seats.

That means everyone can secure a front-row seat to the match, which starts at 11:15 a.m. ET.

“Paris 2024 is struggling to sell tickets for the USA vs Germany women’s basketball match on August 4. Fans were also quick to point out in the comments section of the post that the match was not being played in Paris but near Lille, France, about a two-hour drive away, which they said could be contributing to the lack of interest in purchasing tickets.

Still, it’s hard to imagine the game would have struggled to attract a crowd had Clarke not been left out of the team.

Clarke was a women’s basketball phenomenon who routinely drew huge crowds, selling out arenas in the United States and forcing the WNBA to move some games to larger venues.

While the women’s basketball team decided not to select Clark as a member of their roster, along with 12 other players, the Indiana Fever rookie will now be watching from afar.

Clark says he has been extremely careful. she told reporters. During this week’s Fever Media Availability.

“I watched the U.S. men’s match. I try to watch as many as I can,” she said. “Obviously, the best time is during practice in Paris with the time difference. So Christie [Sides] “You should cancel practice so you can watch more of the Olympics.”

Clark added that he was not disappointed at being left out, and said he was more motivated than ever.
