Jordan investigates daughter of judge in NY v. Trump case over her work for Kamala Harris, Democrats

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan is investigating the daughter of a judge who presided over former President Trump’s criminal trial for previously working for Vice President Kamala Harris, Fox News Digital has learned.

Fox News Digital obtained the letter from Jordan, R-Ohio, to Lauren Marchan, daughter of Judge Juan Marchan, who presided over the New York v. Trump trial, in which a jury found Trump guilty on all counts of first-degree falsifying business records. Trump is asking Marchan to overturn the verdict.

President Trump files motion to recuse judge in hush money case over daughter’s Democratic activities

Before the trial began, Trump’s lawyers asked Judge Marchan to recuse himself from the case because of his daughter’s work in Democratic-related political activities with a company called Authentic Campaigns, which Trump’s lawyers said “serves exclusively Democratic clients” and is the “21st largest vendor in the country related to the 2024 election.”

At the time, Trump’s lawyers said Lauren Marchand “has a direct financial interest in this litigation by virtue of her stock ownership and leadership position in Authentic Campaigns.”

The company’s key clients include top Democrats, including President Biden and Vice President Kalama Harris, who is currently the Democratic presidential nominee.

In a letter to Lauren Marchand on Thursday obtained by Fox News Digital, Jordan highlighted his work related to Harris.

“While you worked for VP Harris, Authentic Campaigns was paid over $7 million for its services,” he wrote. “According to your now-deleted LinkedIn, after VP Harris withdrew from the Democratic primary, you were promoted to President of Authentic Campaigns.”

“Authentic Campaigns then worked on the Biden-Harris 2020 campaign, providing “digital paid media, design and development, social media, mobile messaging, [and] “Artificial intelligence,” Jordan continued.

Jordan said that based on the money the company has raised through its work with top Democratic Party officials, including Rep. Adam Schiff and Senate Majority PAC, “there is, at the very least, a recognition that you and Authentic Campaigns stand to benefit substantially from the prosecution of President Trump in a forum that your father oversees.”

Jordan is now demanding that Lauren Marchand turn over “all contracts and invoices that refer to or relate to work performed by Authentic Campaigns” for work performed on behalf of the Biden campaign, Harris campaign or the Democratic National Committee between Jan. 1, 2023 and the present.

He also is requesting “all documents and communications between Authentic Campaigns or its employees, agents or representatives, the Biden Campaign for President, and the Harris Campaign for President that refer to or relate to the indictment, prosecution or conviction of President Donald J. Trump for the period from April 1, 2023 through the present.”

He is also seeking records relating to any work the firm did in connection with the indictment, prosecution or detention of President Trump, as well as records relating to any communications the firm had with her father, Judge Juan Marchan, in connection with the indictment, prosecution or conviction of President Trump.

Jordan gave her an Aug. 8 deadline to comply with his demands.

The request came as part of the House Judiciary Committee’s investigation into “politically motivated prosecutions of state and local officials.”
