First Lady Michelle Obama released a celebrity-studded video urging people to vote, including NBA star Stephen Curry, actress Kerry Washington and soccer player Megan Rapinoe. The video came after the former first lady publicly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris’ 2024 presidential campaign.
In a video posted to the Instagram account of When We All Vote, an organization launched by President Obama in 2018, the former first lady is seen calling celebrities and asking them, “Hi, it’s Michelle. Are you voting this year?”
“Yeah, absolutely,” enthusiastically replied Megan Rapinoe, a Democrat who has publicly attacked former President Donald Trump for years.
In another clip, Hollywood producer Shonda Rhimes, who has promoted pro-abortion policies and hosted a star-studded fundraiser before the end of President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign, is heard responding, “Absolutely!”
“100% yes!” shouted singer Rayna Roberts, to which Kerry Washington replied, “Absolutely.”

Meanwhile, San Antonio Spurs point guard Chris Paul responded, “You already know that.”
“Now it’s your turn to answer the phone,” Michelle Obama says to the camera, “100 days until the general election.”
“From your local elected officials to votes on reproductive rights to the environment to the economy,” the former first lady continued, “our future depends on voting. So, will you vote this year?”
The video then transitions to Rimes, Paul and beauty influencer Bretman Rock, each repeating Obama’s question, asking the camera, “Are you going to vote this year?”
The video then cuts to Roberts saying, “Come with me,” followed by Curry agreeing.
“Join us,” Obama added, “and get ready to vote by registering with When We All Vote today.”
Notably, the video was released after Biden announced he was ending his reelection campaign and after Obama and her husband, former President Barack Obama, endorsed Harris’ bid for the White House.
On Friday, Michelle Obama posted a video to X showing her and her husband calling Harris.
“I can’t end this call without telling my sweet Kamala, I’m so proud of you,” Michelle can be heard saying to Harris on speakerphone in the video. “This is going to be historic.”

“Michelle and I called to let you know we couldn’t be prouder to endorse you and that we’ll do everything in our power to help you win this election and get into the Oval Office,” Barack Obama interjected, to which Harris replied, “Oh my goodness.”
The vice president continued, “Michelle, Barack, this means so much to me, and I’m looking forward to doing this with you two, Doug and I, and getting out there and hitting the road.”
“But most of all, I want you to know that the words you’ve spoken and the friendship you’ve shown over the years have meant more than words can express. Thank you both. It really means a lot.”
“And why not have some fun with it too?” Harris added.
Meanwhile, Harris’ opponent, President Trump, survived an assassination attempt on July 13 at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, when 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks shot him in the ear as he lay face-down with a rifle on a rooftop less than 500 feet from the 45th president.
The mainstream media, including CNN, The Washington Postand Newsweekseemed to be working overtime in the aftermath of the assassination attempt to churn out questionable headlines, publishing headlines like “Trump Speech Interrupted by Secret Service,” “Secret Service Rushes Trump Off Stage After Fall at Rally,” “Trump Removed After Loud Noise at Pennsylvania Rally,” and “Trump Removed From Stage After Loud Noise Scares Ex-President and Crowd.”
Meanwhile, major tech companies have been found to have censored and not answered questions about what happened at Butler on July 13.
